About Ontario Roadie
Last updated:
Ontario Roadie is an independent project that helps new drivers learn Ontario's rules of the road by driving, not just by reading.
Why it exists
Most people study for the G1 by reading the handbook and doing practice questions. That works for the knowledge test, but a rule you've only read about is easy to forget once you're behind the wheel. Ontario Roadie puts those rules into a small Ontario town you can drive around in your browser. You can stop at all-way stops, go through roundabouts, slow down in school zones and get questions about the signs you pass, without any of the pressure of a real car.
It's made for teens getting ready for their G1, newcomers to Canada learning how driving works in Ontario, and parents who want their kids to practise between lessons.
Where the content comes from
The rules, sign meanings and practice questions are based on the Official MTO Driver's Handbook, explained in our own words. Sign images come from the handbook, © King's Printer for Ontario. Each guide on this site shows the date it was last updated, and links to the matching handbook chapter so you can check the source.
Not affiliated with the MTO or DriveTest. Ontario Roadie is not run by, connected to or endorsed by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO), ServiceOntario or DriveTest. It's a practice tool, not an official test, and passing in the game doesn't mean you'll pass the real thing. Always study the Official MTO Driver's Handbook, and remember that rules can change.
